I have been searching high and low for an item that apparently no one has manufactured as of yet. I'm looking for a toy that makes constant sound so that blind pets can find it (We're working in it! - hpets). My blind cat loves playing with toys, but once it falls stagnant, he can no longer locate it. It's not that much of a problem if you play on linoleum, whereas he can hear the toy drop, but on carpet, unless it's right in front of him, he has no idea where it was tossed to. In my experience, cats favor fuzzy mice and feathered things over plastic balls or toys, so perhaps a small fuzzy toy can have a watch or hearing aid sized battery inside it that runs a mechanism that emits a noise (a beeping sound, or whatever kind of noise research shows that cats respond most to). An on/off switch would be nice too, if that's possible. So many times it has saddened me a little to see all my cats playing with a new toy, and for Winter to get left behind because he can't find the toy to keep up with the playing. It would probably be easier to make a toy for a dog, since the toys can be bigger and made out of plastic and rubber and materials such as that. - Lauren B. See my friends in the gallery
